A traditional Italian variety producing long, cylindrical fruits 20–25 cm in length, with glossy violet skin and tender white flesh. Violetta Lunga eggplant seeds grow vigorous, heat-tolerant plants with strong stems and rich foliage. Fruits are uniform, flavorful, and nearly seedless, with a mild, non-bitter taste.
This crop thrives in warm, sunny climates and prefers fertile, well-drained soils. Sowing is carried out from February to April in seedbeds, with transplanting once seedlings reach 15–20 cm in height. Recommended spacing is 40–50 cm between plants and 70–90 cm between rows. Harvesting begins 80–90 days after sowing and continues throughout summer.
Rich in fiber, potassium, and antioxidants, the variety stands out for its high productivity, heat resistance, and excellent flavor. Ideal for grilling, frying, or traditional Mediterranean dishes such as moussaka and imam.
