The Double Red Freesia (Freesia) is a striking autumn-planted bulb with double, bright red flowers and a pleasant fragrance. Its elegant blooms grow along slender flower stems and add rich colour to the garden. The plant usually reaches approximately 30–40 cm in height, making it an excellent choice for both pots and flower beds.
Choose a sunny, sheltered position with well-drained soil. In areas with mild winters, you can grow them outdoors in the garden. Protect the bulbs from severe frost in colder areas. Their beautiful flowers and fragrance make them ideal for pots, flower beds and group plantings.
It also makes an excellent cut flower. Its colourful, fragrant blooms look beautiful in bouquets and floral arrangements. Combine it with other autumn-planted bulbs to create attractive seasonal displays.
