The Fritillaria ‘Imperialis Rubra’ is a striking autumn-planted bulb with a distinctive architectural appearance. Strong upright stems carry large, hanging bell-shaped flowers in rich red to orange-red shades. A crown of green leaves grows above the flowers and gives the plant its characteristic appearance. It can reach approximately 90–100 cm in height.
Plant the bulb in autumn in a sunny or lightly shaded position. Choose fertile, well-drained soil and avoid areas where water collects around the bulb. Flowering usually takes place in spring.
This variety is ideal for flower beds, borders and group plantings. Its impressive height makes it an excellent focal point in the garden. It also combines beautifully with other spring-flowering bulbs.
