Categories,

A traditional turnip variety producing smooth, round roots with a distinct purple top and white, tender flesh. Purple Top Turnip seeds yield fast-growing plants 25–30 cm tall, with vigorous foliage and consistent production.

Sow August to October for autumn harvests, or February to April in mild climates. Prefers cool, sunny conditions and fertile, well-drained soils with pH 6.0–7.5. Space 15–20 cm between plants and 25–30 cm between rows.

Harvest 45–60 days after sowing, when roots reach 6–8 cm in diameter. The variety is valued for its cold resistance, fine texture, and sweet, mild flavor, ideal for boiling, pickling, or salads.
