A biennial vegetable producing long, white stems and flat green leaves. Leek seeds develop strong, high-yielding plants that thrive in cool climates and deep, fertile soils with pH 6.0–7.5.
Sow from February to April for summer–autumn crops, or from August to October for winter harvests. Transplant when seedlings reach pencil thickness, spacing 15–20 cm between plants and 30–40 cm between rows.
Leeks are rich in vitamins A, C, and K, antioxidants, and minerals. They stand out for their sweet, delicate flavor and excellent cold tolerance, ideal for winter cultivation.
