The Fritillaria ‘Imperialis Lutea’ is a striking autumn-planted bulb with beautiful golden-yellow, bell-shaped flowers. The blooms hang in a distinctive crown around the tall flower stem. A cluster of green leaves grows above the flowers and gives the plant its characteristic exotic appearance. It can reach approximately 90–100 cm in height.
Plant the bulb in autumn in a sunny or lightly shaded position. Choose fertile, well-drained soil and avoid areas where water collects around the bulb. The impressive flowers usually appear in spring, mainly during April and May.
This variety is ideal for flower beds, borders and group plantings. Its height makes it an excellent choice for adding vertical interest to the garden. The bright yellow flowers also combine beautifully with tulips, narcissus and other spring-flowering bulbs.
