The Soft Cabbage (Brassica oleracea var. capitata) is a cool-season variety known for its tender leaves and compact, round heads. Soft Cabbage seeds produce vigorous plants with rich green foliage and medium to large heads, offering a fine texture and pleasant, slightly sweet flavor.
This variety thrives in cool to cold climates and prefers fertile, deep, well-drained soils. Sowing takes place from August to October for autumn crops or January to March for spring cultivation. Recommended spacing is 40–50 cm between plants and 60–70 cm between rows. Harvest occurs 90–120 days after sowing, depending on the growing season and conditions.
Soft Cabbage stands out for its leaf tenderness and cold resistance. It is rich in vitamins C and K, calcium, and dietary fiber, making it a valuable component of the Mediterranean diet. It is consumed raw, boiled, or pickled, being a key ingredient in salads and traditional dishes.
