A cool-season annual vegetable producing dense green heads with mild flavor and high nutritional value. Broccoli seeds yield vigorous plants 50–80 cm tall, with thick stems and broad leaves that protect the florets.
Sow in seedbeds from July to September, and transplant August–October for winter harvests. Prefers cool, sunny conditions and fertile, well-drained soils with pH 6.0–7.0. Space 40–50 cm between plants and 60–80 cm between rows.
Harvest 70–90 days after transplanting, when heads are firm and compact. Broccoli is rich in vitamins C and K, calcium, and antioxidants, thriving perfectly in mild Mediterranean winters.
