The Iris Lion King is a distinctive bulbous iris with an unusual two-tone colour combination. Its upper petals display purple and bronze tones, while the lower petals are golden yellow with striking dark veins. This rich contrast creates an impressive display in the garden. The plant usually grows around 50–60 cm tall.
Plant the bulbs in autumn in a sunny or lightly shaded position. Choose fertile, well-drained soil and avoid areas where water collects. Flowers usually appear from late spring to early summer.
This variety is ideal for borders, flower beds and group plantings. It combines beautifully with yellow, white and purple flowers. You can also grow it in large pots and containers. Its tall stems and colourful blooms make it an excellent cut flower for bouquets and floral arrangements.
