Η κολοκύθα Quintale Seme Gallo (Cucurbita maxima) είναι ποικιλία μεγάλης ανάπτυξης και εξαιρετικά παραγωγική, γνωστή για τους εντυπωσιακούς καρπούς της. Οι σπόροι του δίνουν φυτά ζωηρής βλάστησης, με ισχυρούς βλαστούς και πλατιά φύλλα που καλύπτουν αποτελεσματικά το έδαφος. Η ποικιλία αυτή ευδοκιμεί σε θερμά, ηλιόλουστα περιβάλλοντα και προτιμά γόνιμα, καλά στραγγιζόμενα εδάφη πλούσια σε οργανική ουσία. Η σπορά πραγματοποιείται την άνοιξη, από Απρίλιο έως Ιούνιο, απευθείας στο χωράφι ή σε σπορείο. Συνιστώνται αποστάσεις 1,5–2 μέτρων μεταξύ των φυτών. Η συγκομιδή γίνεται περίπου 100–120 ημέρες μετά τη σπορά, όταν οι καρποί αποκτήσουν έντονο πορτοκαλί χρώμα και σκληρή φλούδα.
