Ετήσιο, θερμόφιλο αναρριχώμενο φυτό της οικογένειας Cucurbitaceae, που παράγει επιμήκεις καρπούς μήκους 30–60 cm. Στην ώριμη μορφή του, ο εσωτερικός ιστός των καρπών μετατρέπεται σε φυσικό σπόγγο, κατάλληλο για οικιακή ή καλλυντική χρήση. Οι σπόροι της δίνουν φυτά ζωηρής ανάπτυξης, με μεγάλα φύλλα και πλούσια ανθοφορία.

Η σπορά πραγματοποιείται Απρίλιο έως Ιούνιο, όταν η θερμοκρασία εδάφους υπερβεί τους 20°C, είτε απευθείας στο έδαφος είτε σε σπορείο. Προτιμά ηλιόλουστες, ζεστές θέσεις και πλούσια, καλά στραγγιζόμενα εδάφη με pH 6,0–7,5. Οι αποστάσεις φύτευσης είναι 80–100 cm μεταξύ των φυτών και 100–120 cm μεταξύ των γραμμών.

Η συγκομιδή για νωπούς καρπούς γίνεται 50–60 ημέρες μετά τη σπορά, ενώ για σπόγγους, οι καρποί αφήνονται να ωριμάσουν πλήρως (120–150 ημέρες) ώσπου να ξεραθεί το περίβλημα. Η Λούφα είναι ανθεκτική στη ζέστη και την ξηρασία, και αποτελεί εναλλακτική, οικολογική καλλιέργεια με εμπορικό ενδιαφέρον.

All estimated shipping times are in addition to fulfillment times, We offer a next working day delivery for orders placed before 6:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. Returns & Refunds

We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return, To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, and in its original packaging.
